THE EARLY HISTORY OF WALTHAM

The green painted hoardings now sited along the B2177, in front of the Youth Club and Fox’s old site, create space for an easily accessible public exhibition.
Together we have seized this opportunity by creating 34 large posters to tell the town’s early history. They will be put up on the 29th September and the exhibition formally opened on Saturday 30th September.

These storyboards offer fascinating insights into our small market town’s more distant past – all served up in bite-sized portions. They are designed to be of interest to all the town’s residents, especially those who have moved here recently. We also hope that, spread by word-of-mouth, it will be an attraction that increases visitor numbers to the town in the coming months. It will remain up while demolition work and an archaeological dig are undertaken before building starts – this could be a year or more.
